Pampa Ganapathi Temple

Thriveni of Pampa is one of the holy place mentioned from “Thredayougam” Lord Sriram with his presence in this place had blessed this area. Many places near Pampa thriveni has reference of Sri Rama.

Sabarimala pilgrims from different route meets at Pampa and then proceed to Sannidhanam. During early days of the pilgrimage, pilgrims faced many difficulties at Pampa. On performing “Prasna chinda”, the presence of Ganapathy was found and a temple was consecrated. Based on “Jyothisha prediction, the deity of old ganapathy was consecrated as “Adi ganapathy” as lord of Sidhi and Budhi.

Erumeli Sastha Temple

Erumeli is one of the most important point in the pilgrimage to Sabarimala. There are two shrines and Vavar mosque where pilgrims use to worship.

The famous Erumeli petta thullal is performed near the Kochambalam (Small shrine).

Nilakal Palliyarakavu Devi Temple

The temple situated in the deep forest 1 KM north of Nilakal and is considered as the mother of Lord Ayyappa. Pilgrims to Sabarimala use to worship the devi who has a maternal mood. Pilgrims use to pray for welfare of the family and mental peace.

Pilgrims use to perform “Irumudi Kettu Nirakal” at this temple after making “Nayattu vili”. There are 3 Poojas at this temple. Main offering is “Aravana Payasam”.

Nilakal Mahadeva Temple

Nilakal temple is situated about 15 KM east of Pampa is the oldest temple in this place. It is believed that Lord Ayyappa on his way to forest to eradicate the demon got the blessings from his father “Haran” from this temple. Pilgrims on their way to Sannidhanam seek the blessings from this Temple.

The deity here is believed to be in two moods fierce “Ugramoorthy” and auspicious “Mangala Pradayakan”. It is also believed that Lord Siva is showering blessings to his son lord Ayyappa to fight against all evil spirit while throwing all anger to the evils.

There is only three Prathishtas here, Lord Parameshwaran, Lord Kannimoola Ganapathi and Nandi.

There are 3 Poojas here on every day. Special weekly days are Sunday, Monday and Friday.

Pandalam Valiyakoikal Temple

This temple is associated with the Lord Ayyappa. The King of Pandalam constructed this Dharmasastha temple. The “Thiruvabharana procession starts from this temple.

Sabarimala pilgrims consider this temple as an important point in their pilgrimage.
